Privacy
Effective: 2026-05-17
Bitof ("we", "us", "our") builds focused software products. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We try to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Email you give us. If you subscribe to updates or email us, we store your address to reply or send what you asked for.
- Basic request logs. Our server records standard technical data (IP, user agent, time, URL) to operate and protect the service. These logs are retained for a short period and then rotated out.
- Local preferences. A small cookie stores your language and theme choice (
bitoflab-locale,bitoflab-color-mode). It never leaves your browser.
We do not use third-party analytics, ad networks, or tracking cross-site cookies on this site.
How we use it
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To send the updates you signed up for — and only those.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
Who we share it with
No one — with two narrow exceptions:
- Infrastructure providers needed to run the service (e.g. hosting, email delivery). They process data on our behalf under contract.
- Legal requirement — if a valid legal process requires it. We will push back on overbroad requests where we can.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You can unsubscribe from any email by replying or using the unsubscribe link.
Children
Bitof is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We will update this policy as our products evolve (in particular when we add accounts and paid products). Material changes will be noted at the top of the page with a new effective date.
